Sodium Metasilicate Pentahydrate
Ankit Silicate manufactures a wide range of high-quality Sodium Metasilicate grades designed to meet the requirements of various industries. When dissolved in water, Sodium Metasilicate forms a highly alkaline solution that softens water and enhances cleaning efficiency. It is extensively used in the metal, detergent, ceramic, and other industrial cleaning applications — both directly and indirectly.
Our Sodium Metasilicate Pentahydrate is a multifunctional product known for its excellent pH-regulating capacity, effective detergency, strong corrosion inhibition, and good dispersing properties. It is environmentally safe and formulated to deliver superior performance across multiple applications. Our advanced granulation process and strict quality control standards ensure a product that is pure, stable, and consistent.
Chemically, Sodium Metasilicate Pentahydrate contains both silica (SiO₂) and sodium oxide (Na₂O) in a molar ratio of approximately 1:1. The silica content imparts corrosion-inhibiting properties that help protect both metal and non-metal surfaces, while the sodium oxide component provides strong alkalinity for high solubility and superior cleaning action. The pentahydrate form also contains about 43% water of crystallization, which contributes to its stability and ease of handling.
Properties & Advantages
- White and free-flowing granules or powder.
- Dissolves easily, even in cold water.
- High bulk density with low dust content.
- Negligible insoluble residues ensure product purity.
- As a highly alkaline product, Sodium Metasilicate readily reacts with CO2. Our advanced production methods minimize the risk of partial inactivity caused by CO2 contamination, as there is no contact between our products and combustion gases. This ensures a consistently pure and active Sodium Metasilicate.
